UFC’s flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo is currently recovering from a hand injury, and he was expected to face Kai Kara-France next. Now that he’s out from the action, the UFC decided to book a fight between the former champion, Brandon Moreno, and the number one contender, Kai Kara-France for the interim flyweight title.

Figgy felt disrespected by this decision, and while was on his way to make a return inside the octagon, he parted ways with Henry Cejudo and started training in his home country of Brazil. He is now training with the former lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira at ‘Chute Boxing,’ and he also parted ways with his long-time manager Wallid Ismail.

The Brazilian is now managed by another UFC veteran, Urijah Faber, according to information first reported by Combate and later verified by Deiveson Figueiredo. Vayne Sports, a business controlled by Faber and Lloyd Pierson, has a contract with Deiveson. The careers of several well-known MMA competitors, including Tony Ferguson, Sean O’Malley, Chris Weidman, and Stipe Miocic, are also under their management.

“Totally embarrassing”- Deiveson Figueiredo says his former contract was embarrassing for a champion

Figgy talked about this in his recent interview with MMA Fighting, he stated, “I’ve changed managers looking for someone that presents me great numbers in the UFC. Faber has contacts in the company, is close to Dana, is American and lives there, knows the numbers and how it works, and I’m sure he’ll fight hard for me there.”

He added, “In a private conversation with him, he told me my numbers were too low. I knew that already, that my numbers don’t exist. Guys fighting for the belt get paid around $500,000, and defending get around $600,000, and my numbers would never go over $200,000.”

“This last fight, I got paid [$100,000 to show and $100,000 to win] or [$100,000 to show, $50,000 to win], I don’t know. Totally embarrassing. I know it’s low. It was on desperate to get the title fight. I know it’s a good purse for someone challenging for the belt,” Figgy concluded.
