Stunning Joy Taylor replaces Skip Bayless at Fox show after 8 yearsofUndisputed

July 2024 · 2 minute read

Before Skip Bayless left Undisputed, the show was already struggling with declining ratings. So much so that they consistently hit the lowest ratings of any sports show on television. It seems the longtime analyst could not rejuvenate the show after Shannon Sharpe left for ESPN. Now, it seems Fox has gone full circle and brought back original host Joy Taylor into the fold.

An exclusive article by the New York Post revealed Fox’s latest moves. First, they canceled Undisputed and replaced it with a new show called ‘The Facility’. The show will predominantly host former NFL players who were part of the show, Speak. Speak’s host, Taylor, continues with her show but will get Undisputed holdovers Paul Pierce and Keyshawn Johnson as part of a new panel.

This is a full-circle moment for Joy Taylor. She unceremoniously left Undisputed after clashes with Bayless. Clashes were also the reason why Shannon Sharpe left despite building a successful post-NFL career on the show. Even Richard Sherman’s position was attributed to similar issues.

It seems the longtime analyst did not get along with anyone. Now, with him gone and his show canceled, the longtime analyst is still without a job. ESPN has so far been against the idea of Bayless returning to their fold. After all, he left them, again due to disagreements. But the 72-year-old is far from done.

Skip Bayless is not done with talking about sports

Skip Bayless famously told his wife Ernestine Sclafani that his work would always be his priority. That should give an idea that the longtime analyst and debater is far from done. He lives and breathes sports. Be it bashing LeBron James or talking about how he saw a game develop, he won’t stop. He made that clear on his official X account when suggesting that a big announcement was coming.

On vacation this week. “The Skip Bayless Show” returns next Thursday. Big announcement soon.

However, with most networks not wanting to dip their hands into the mud, it will be interesting what that announcement would be. He does have his own show called The Skip Bayless Show. However, it is anything but big at the moment.

The interesting part is that the show is produced and hosted by Fox Sports. Which means he is continuing that deal with Fox. The only thing is he no longer occupies a prime slot on their television schedule.
