Jack Benny was an American comedian, vaudevillian, radio, television, and film actor, and violinist.

He was the son of Naomi/Emma (Sachs) and Meyer/Mayer Kubelsky, who was a saloon owner and haberdasher. His parents were Jewish emigrants, his father from Poland and his mother from Lithuania, then in the Russian Empire. Jack was married to radio comedian and actress Mary Livingstone (born Sadya Marcowitz), until his death. The couple had a daughter, who was adopted. Mary was also from an Eastern European Jewish family.

Jack’s paternal grandfather was named Benjamin Kubelsky (the son of Leib Kubeldziski and Fruma).

Jack’s paternal grandmother was named Zlotta Millerstein.
