The world of hip hop has been hit with the sad exit of one its icon, C-Knight whose legal name is Arnez Blount.
He died in November 2023, weeks after he was hospitalized for a diabetic episode. At the time, reports suggested he was on life support after suffering a stroke.

Who was C-Knight?
C-Knight (born between 1970 and 1971) was a rap artist whose real name was Arnez Blount.
He was a founding member of Dove Shack, a G-funk group from Long Beach, California.
The band was formed in 1994 and stayed active until 2006.
They also made a brief comeback in 2017 and 2018.
C-Knight was one of three within Dove Shack, alongside Bo-Roc and 2Scoops.
Rapper C-Knight was known for his role in the Dove Shack group.
The trio released two albums, which were both memorable in the rap scene, especially for their impact on the West Coast G-Funk (gangsta funk) movement in the 90s.
The movement was spearheaded by Snoop Dogg and Warren G who are both good friends with C-Knight.
Dove Shack made their debut with the song This Is The Shack on Warren G’s album Regulate… G Funk Era.
The trio then released their own album, also titled This Is The Shack, in 1995 with the mega-hit single Summertime In The LBC, featuring Arnita Porter.
Summertime In The LBC peaked at 54 in the Billboard Hot 100, was No37 on the R&B chart, and reached a high of 11 on the Rap chart.
It also featured in the 1995 documentary film The Show, with the soundtrack album charting at No4 on the Hot 200, and No1 on the Rap Chart.
We Funk (The G Funk) and Bomb Drop were also released as singles.
The album hit number 68 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and number 13 on the R&B chart.
They later contributed to a few compilations and released their second album Reality Has Got Me Tied Up in 2006.
C-Knight was also known among rap lovers for his solo project Knight Time in 2001.
What was C-Knight’s cause of death?
The Dove Shack star was hospitalized on October 18, 2023, following a disturbing blood sugar test result, per TMZ.
C-Knight’s father, George Lee Washington Blount Jr., revealed the MC’s blood sugar levels stemmed from his diabetes.
He said that C-Knight suffered a stroke while receiving dialysis and went into cardiac arrest.
The hip-hop artist’s heart stopped and he had to be resuscitated by doctors, according to the outlet.
Doctors told his family they hadn’t detected any signs of progress and was reportedly in unresponsive state since the cardiac arrest.
C-Knight’s bandmate Bo-Roc shared a heartbreaking post for the rapper four days after he was hospitalized.
He posted a photo of C-Knight on Instagram and wrote: “I’m literally begging all who see’s this post to pray for my brother from another mother and one of my closest friends in the world Arnez a.k.a C Knight from the Dove Shack.”
Referencing the group’s highest-charting song, Bo-Roc added: “He’s the founder of the Dove Shack and the reason I had the opportunity to make #summertimeinthelbc for the world.
“So please please send him positive energy and healing prayers.”
On November 7, 2023, C-Knight was taken off life support. His death was shared by a family member, according to TMZ.
