Cristiano Ronaldo guided Al-Nassr to the Arab Champions Cup victory. They faced Al-Hilal in the finals. The match was not without its difficulties for the side. They were facing their fiercest rivals in a very important game. Since Ronaldo arrived in January, Al-Nassr had yet to win a trophy. This was his opportunity. Neither team could score in the first half, with the score remaining 0-0. 

Ruben Neves got an excellent chance for Al-Hilal, but he couldn’t finish it despite a great attempt. Al-Nassr, however, was the better team who didn’t manage to score solely because of Mohammed Al-Owais. The goalkeeper saved his team numerous times. Sadio Mane put a great cross into the box, which Al-Khaibari tried to finish.

But Al-Owais pulled off a magnificent save at the last minute. In the second half, however, the dynamics changed. In the 51st minute, new signing Malcolm Oliveira who has been exceptional for the team gave a brilliant assist to Michael Oliveira. He finished with no qualms giving Al-Hilal the lead. This was very crucial for the game as it ignited both teams. 

Ronaldo and Talisca both started shooting more often to get the goal. But, it went all bad when Al-Amri was sent off. Al-Nassr was then reduced to ten men with one goal down. However, that’s when Ronaldo, renowned worldwide for his performances in big games, stepped up. He tapped in a pass from Sultan Al-Ghannam to force extra time. The game stayed 1-1 at the end of regular time. In extra time, the former Real Madrid legend came into life again as he gave his team the lead through a rebound from a Seko Fofana shot.

Many fans on Twitter trolled Cristiano Ronaldo when he was lifting the cup. Some said it looked very similar to the World Cup trophy lifted by his arch-rival Lionel Messi while others called it a “pineapple.”
