A 27-year-old Boise man has been arrested for attempted grand theft, burglary, and possession of controlled substances.

On Monday, April 1, Boise Police arrested Tyler Glynn following a theft investigation. Glynn entered a business on Milwaukee St., filled a cart with merchandise, and left the store without paying. Loss prevention employees followed Glynn into the parking lot who fled on a bicycle, abandoning the stolen merchandise.

The store's loss prevention team is part of a cooperative of local businesses in the community who recognize suspicious activities and report them directly to Boise Police Organized Retail Crime department. The Organized Retail Crime Association allows retailers and law enforcement to communicate quickly about criminal activity, alert other businesses, and assist law enforcement in investigating potential crimes.

The store employees were able to recover more than $1,300 in merchandise after stopping Glynn in the act. When BPD officers caught up with Glynn, he was found to have drugs in his possession, adding to the list of charges he now faces.
