Blended is a 2014 American romantic comedy, directed by Frank Coraci, written by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The Blended cast features a list of popular Hollywood actors like Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Terry Crews and Isabella Thorne.

Blended is a movie that follows the story of two single parents who meet on a blind date that does not go very well. They conclude they cannot see each other again. Surprisingly, they meet again at an African safari resort with their children and are forced to stay together.

The movie, which was produced by Adam Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and Mike Karz, was released on May 23, 2014. It was a moderate box office hit, despite negative reviews from critics. Blended grossed $14.3 million during its opening weekend and $128 million worldwide, against a budget of $40 million. It is also the third collaboration between Sandler and Barrymore after The Wedding Singer (1998) and 50 First Dates (2004).

Jim Friedman is the protagonist of the film. He is a widower who lost his wife to cancer. He is also a loving father to three daughters but fails to understand how girls think. So, he tends to treat his daughters as boys.

Drew Barrymore as Lauren Reynolds

Lauren is a divorced mother of two boys. She goes on a blind date with Jim, which fails horribly. They unexpectedly meet again on vacation with their children in Africa. Lauren also has a career as a closet organiser with her best friend. She is a great mother to her children and also Jim’s children, a personality that helps endear her to Jim.

Bella Thorne as Hilary ‘Larry’ Friedman

Larry Friedman is Jim’s 15-year-old eldest daughter. She is very athletic but very skinny, prompting her father to always tell her to beef up. In school, she is often mistaken to be a lesbian due to the way she dresses. She also does not like how her father treats her like a boy. Larry has a crush on Jake but does not know how to gain his attention until Lauren helps her out.

Emma Fuhrmann as Espen ‘ESPN’ Friedman

ESPN is Jim’s middle daughter. She also seems to be the only one of the Friedmans who feels their mother’s death most, as she often talks and creates space for her mother. ESPN is also shy but often clashes with Lauren’s son, Brendan.

Alyvia Alyn Lind as Louise ‘Lou’ Friedman

Lou is Jim’s youngest daughter, who is cute and often very loud. She also loves to have another mother and easily accepts Lauren as one.

Braxton Beckham as Brendan Reynolds

Brendan is the elder son of Mark and Lauren Reynolds. He despises Jim and does not want the widower anywhere near his mother, a fact that often makes him clash with ESPN. Brendan also has a crush on his babysitter as his mother finds a picture of her face taped onto a model’s body in a magazine.

Kyle Red Silverstein as Tyler Reynolds

Tyler is the younger son of Mark and Lauren Reynolds. He loves to play baseball but he does not know how to hit the ball which often makes him angry and frustrated. Tyler is also very energetic and often engages in dangerous stunts that send his mother panicking. He also loves to pick on his elder brother, Brendan.

Terry Crews as Nickens

Nickens is a staff of the African resort where Jim and Lauren are vacationing with their families. He leads a group of singers to entertain guests at the resort. Nickens is funny and often makes fun of guests.

Eddy is an older man who is on a family vacation with his new bride, Ginger, and teenage son, Jake at the African resort. They get together with Jim’s and Lauren’s families. Eddie and his bride cannot keep their hands off each other, to the dismay of his son and other guests.

Jessica Lowe as Ginger Warnick

Ginger is Eddy’s younger wife. She is very sexy and loves to say “so romantic!” while shaking her ample boobs. Ginger is not very bright but she has a good heart. She desperately wants Jake to accept her as his father’s wife but he does not like her at first.

Zak Henri as Jake Warnick

Jake is the handsome teenage son of Eddy. He is quiet and prefers to be alone playing music with a headpiece. Jake also does not like his young stepmother, Ginger. But he later learns to accept her, to her delight. Larry has a crush on him but he does not notice her until she does a complete makeover, thanks to Lauren.

Wendi McLendon-Covey as Jen Palmer

Jen is Lauren’s best friend and co-worker. She is in a relationship with Jim’s boss, Dick. They plan to go on a vacation together in Africa but decide not to go after they break up. Jen gives Lauren her portion of the vacation package not knowing that her ex had also given his to Jim. In the end, the couple reconcile.

Joel McHale as Mark Reynolds

Mark is Lauren’s ex-husband. They broke up after he cheated on her. Mark is also portrayed as a jerk and a deadbeat dad. When he learns that Jim is interested in his ex-wife, he tries to get back together with her. But Lauren rejects him.
