(CelebrityAccess) – Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) Worldwide has promoted David McGilvray to Senior Vice President, Radio Promotion.
Having started his career in the music industry working for Bon Jovi Management and Mercury Records, McGilvray went on to spend 17-years with Island Def Jam during which time he led numerous successful radio campaigns for artists such as The Killers, Fall Out Boy, and Motley Crue among others.
“David has a demonstrated record of strategic successes,” said ADA President, A&R and Label Services, Kenny Weagly. “I am excited to announce his well-deserved promotion and highlight the passion, experience, dedication, and perseverance that he brings to ADA on behalf of our artist and label partners, both in his core field of radio promotion and beyond it.”
In addition to the promotion of McGilvray, ADA has made three new hires including Alisa Applegate, Rick Betemit, and Mary Taggart.
Applegate, who played a pivotal role in the early success of artists like The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj, joins ADA as Vice President, West Coast Promotion, from her previous post as Sr. Director, Rhythm Radio at Republic Records.
Betemit, who began his career at Atlantic Records, joins ADA as Director, Urban Promotion, from his previous post as northeast regional radio rep for the urban department of Empire Records, while Taggart joins ADA as Regional Promotion Manager, following previous marketing roles at both Honeymoon Records and 300 Entertainment.
ADA’s radio promotion team has already set the tone for a strong year ahead with a handful of acts including Bob Moses, Jeff Tweedy, and others charting in the Top 20 across various genres.
